Potential Clogged Cats? Sulfur/rotten egg smell

Howdy yall,

Over the past couple weeks I've noticed a sulfuric/rotten egg smell while driving. Also noticed a little sluggish acceleration. Upon reading, it looks like it could be a clogged catalytic converter? But, from what I've read, they should really just be replaced when a code is thrown or they are confirmed to be bad, which mine are not. Is there anything else it could be? Maybe a precat?

If it is the catalytic converter, what options are there? And is it a job that could be done by a college student with some tools, a jack, and some experience?

Thanks for the help yall.

You can try some cat cleaner type product. Make sure that you are using premium fuel and you are driving the car hard time-to-time to get the cats nice and hot and blow out any crud.

In my rsx my mechanic said sulphur is usually a bad O2 sensor. Happenned during uphill highway climbs. He replaced the sensor and my sulphur smell went away.
