most of the synthetic oils meet HTO-6 standard, but unfortunately testing process and certification cost a lot of money, and most of the manufactures do not want to spend a lot of money to capture very small market of RDX. On top of that, they know that even if they get HTO-6 certification, most of RDX owners will still continue using Mobil1.. so its a bad business decision for them...

i never used mobile 1 in my entire life since i have always read bad things about them online from engineers. same for castrol syntec which i have heard is not really synthetic and it is petroleum based. i did not even know petro canada maakes motor oil. whats your experience with it?

I would love to buy Canadian, and not wanting to sound unpatriotic, but if I can go to the US Walmart and get 4.78L for $20.00, why would I pay the $8 per Litre for a Canadian brand oil.
Also, just 4 weeks ago, Canadian Tire was selling Pennzoil Synthetic for $25.00 for 4.78L. No place sells PetroCan Synthetic oil, except the gas kiosks and also at PetroCan sales office itself. I am not sure why you are so excited about seeing our Canadian brand being HT-06 compliant.:what: |
If I change my oil at a non-Acura (or non-Honda) dealership, how do I reset the oil life indicator?
