Viper remote start using your iphone

Does anyone here tried the new Viper Remote start, it can start your car from a far distance via your iPhone with this SmartStart module that eliminates the need to carry the remote control on your key ring.

They are 299.99 on BestBuy

I order from HookedOnTronics.com $350.99 Free Ship.Plus you need key bypass PKH34.
I installed my self today. It took about 4 hours. hard part is finding door triger wires. it said is on top of the fuse box by the kick panal. i found it by the floor running up.
Only thing I did not hook up is the trunk. because You have to unlock the door to open the back. It work with 5901 romote.
Pro. installation will cost around 250.00 to 300.00.
You can look up in the craigslist for local installer.
Good luck

Just curious... this remote starting with an iphone... its for the kicks and a sort of a gimmick novelty thing right? I mean I can possibly see some utility in "warming" up the car... but it would really be useful if you can use the iphone to set the temperature in the car or setting the fan speed to high, turn on/off seat heater etc).
I have been through winters, and never once did I feel that I needed to remote start the car... I find it faster to simply jump in, start the car, and go. A running engine warms air faster than an idling one, plus the latter pollutes more.
If the cabin warming is not the idea for the remote start, then I really think it is a gimmicky idea with the remote starting with an iphone. JMHO.

This is very usefull if you are on vacation (far away from home), and you need to start your car once in a while so the battery wont drain...

well if it's that cold out, chances are you left the car with it's heat on high or at the very least on.....even better if you can remember to crank the heat when you got out of the car. Likewise for the summer, would be useful to have the a/c blasting for a few minutes before you get in the car if its been sitting in the sun all day.

I love having a remote starter when it's cold. Defrosted windows, warm seats, warm engine.

They said you will need to have phone signal inorder for this to work, so if you dont have a phone signal your car wont start using your iphone even if you are near to your car. but you could always use the other remote to start your car but not your iphone.

If you had a remote starter you would see the "utility" of it...Plus I think that you can set up the car to have the temperature at whatever point you want when the engine starts. The fan would not blow air until the car has reached temperature anyways...

BTW, there are other systems that work with any phone and you just text your car to start. I believe Titan remote starters have this option among others.

I believe they are using AUDIOVOXPrestige CL100 CarLink System, It's is An Interactive Vehicle Security System ""That Keeps the Vehicle Owner In Touch with their Car via Wireless GPS, Internet and Telephone."" CarLink automatically notifies you when your vehicle has been stolen and lets you track the vehicle on you
