Question Ski Rack Question

2009 RDX - I am looking to buy OEM Rails and Ski Rack attachment but needs to know the distance between the two bars. I want to ensure the my ski bindings will fit without having to be crushed.

If someone would be so kind could I ask for you to measure the distance between those two bars if you have the OEM set up?

TIA

I have OEM roof rack with cross bars on my 08 RDX. The oval shaped crossbars are adjustable and I have mine set around 29 inches apart measuring from the center of the front/rear crossbars. I can set them around a little over 34 inches apart if needed. I only use my roof rack for a Yakima Rocket Pro 14 roof cargo box. The roof box was plenty long enough to put cross country skis in them with any extra gear.

by OEM, you mean you have them installed by the dealer? I am always unclear on OEM's meaning and the way it's used?

Thanks

Yes, my rack was sold as an Acura accessory. There are a few aftermarket roof racks and cross bars other than OEM that work just as well. You just have to make sure you use the aftermarket rack within the RDX roof limits instead to the rack limits. The good thing about Acura accessories is it is covered by the 4/50,000 basic warranty if they are dealer installed.
