fogs w/o head lights
Does anybody know if there is a way to wire the RDX so that you can have the fogs on with the parking lamps? I noticed that mine only come on when the headlights are on. Not sure if this is in the right section, I did a search as well but found nothing.

I hate it when manufactures specifically design their products to operate in a “safe” manner. You should be able to turn on/off whatever function you want at any time. You could get a wiring diagram and trace down the fog light line, add power and put your own switch in dash. But it’s not worth your time. Unless you replace the fogs with HID’s, they are about as bright as two 4 “D”-cell Maglights.

I recently purchased my 2008 RDX & I am interested in getting HID for my fog lights. I found this link:
http://www.vistaautoparts.com/2008/r...auto_parts.htm
Can anyone give me any suggestions or recommendations. I am also not sure which selection are for the fog lights.
Or is is just better to get the HID for both the head lights & Fog lights. similar to droebuck's pic above.

wspy- I am wanting the fogs to stay on with just the parking lights. But I am not concerned with them staying on while the brights are on. I would be wanting this for more show than practicality so the xenon conversion, which is a big differnce as I did it on my G35, is not a concern for me either at this point.

Izeaac--iike I said I found the HID kit on Ebay very cheap (36$). I believe it was a Xentec (do an ebay search on Xentec H11). It comes with the ballasts, wiring and bulbs, very easy to install. I believe all you need to do is make sure the kit is for H11 to fit the fog lights. (and with a few months of having them installed no problems).
That was the nice thing about having the front underbody spoiler. I just velcroed the ballasts to the inner side of the lip (which is nice and flat).
And no, you do not have to do the headlights at the same time because the stock low beam is already HID (you just may want to change color, to do that change the bulb like did). The high beam is not HID.

On my Ford Focus, I removed the Fog Light Relay and made a jumper wire to jump between the circuit the relay typically interrupts. This allowed fog lights with parking lights and high beams.
The way this works is as follows:
The fog light power circuit travels through a relay that operates depending on the headlight circuit. Any time the low beams were on, the relay was closed and allowed power to the fog lights. If the low beams weren't on, the relay was open and interrupted power to the fog lights. By jumping this relay with a simple wire, it bypassed the relay altogether, which allowed power to the fog light circuit regardless of the headlights. This made a significant diffeerence in night time driving, as I could activate my high beams with fog lights. Plus I liked the look of parking lights and fog lights. I will go do this now and report back briefly.

You may need to utilize a stand alone fog controller such as the KP technologies unit- there is a whole forum dedicated to this unit: http://kptechnologies.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=30
I know this unit worked for the Infiniti FX35 which suffered the same fog light issue..... it ALWAYS annoyed me they give you no control over the fog lights.

Good news buckeroos! got the shop manual for the 2010-12 RDX and there is a foglight relay switch under the dash by the gas pedal.. i will post the schematic later looking it over though i noticed a typical relay with 4 terminals has the ground, hot wire in,foglight in, and switch wire.. on the RDX relay the hot wire is in 2 spots then there is the switch and foglight in. ive noticed when testing the switch when its off its a constant power.. when on it grounds itself but the interesting thing is even with the foglights on and clicked to highbeams the switch wire still stays grounded, so my guess is that the 2 hot wires to the relay is what causes the issue not being able to control when you want the fogs on and off.. more to come soon =)

WTF?
number 3 is correct its the number 4 that should be grounded.. or its a combo of the green coming off the main control going to the micu and the number 4... im waiting for a little warmer of a day to go try out a few things
