Reconsidering the RDX
I am thinking about buying a RDX again. After my test drive in Dec I was a bit turned off. At the time I could bring myself to trade in my TSX. I have also been trying to wait to see what will be added for 2008. I looks like I will not be able to wait that much longer. On a side note does anyone have any qualifing info on AHFC Super Preferred credit tier.

When I purchased by RDX, I asked the finance manager what was required to get the special financing....he said a minimum credit score of around 720. The qualifications for the financing incentive may be different from AHFC Super Preferred.

Shop different dealers, and if you are close to the super prefered rate they will get authorization to get it for you. If they won'i make the call and fight for you, they are not a good dealer, go elsewhere!

Ha Ha. It is a sweet picture. I think Acura owes me money for that sell.

Before anyone says it. I know that no vehicle will ever be perfect and new options will be added every year.

Acura dealers are selling the RDX below invoice right now. If you wait until the next model year and Acura adds features, prices will probably go up. Are those extra features worth a couple of thousand dollars to you?

I bought the RDX w/tech last weekend and got a nice deal. I work for a very large software company that has a couple programs that negotiate deals with various vendors. So, I searched for Acura dealers in TX and found one in Dallas that quoted me about $60 above invoice. No dealers were listed in Austin, where I live, but I decided to give them a shot and ended up buying at $34,500. I added the 7/100k warranty (I plan on keeping this thing until I run into the ground...I love it) - which is nice because if you sell the vehicle...you can transfer it or they'll buy it back prorated.
I was actually a little shocked when they showed my credit score at 810 (I knew it was good...but was thinking mid 700's) so I had no problem getting the 3.9 for 60 months. I had no trade in so after it was all said and done my pmt is about $640 per month. Not bad.
No idea what the cutoff is for the best financing though - I'd say it's probably negotiable depending on various factors but I'd guess mid-700's to qualify.
As for the vehicle - I love it. Usual complaints for me...gas mileage could be better, no auto headlights??, navigation system rocks but maps don't seem all that updated (gas stations that have been in my city for 4+ years aren't showing on the map and my neighborhood is 3 years old and my own street isn't on the map) but the driving experience makes up for it. My wife drives it with kids and complains it's a little bumpy but hopefully it will smooth out a little once we break it in.

Had a 643 score they pull Equifax in Florida weakest of the 3 figures due to a CA from 2001 I'am disputing it. Spoke with the finance guy at Honda about the dispute showed letter.
Long story short I got 8.9% 66months payment was 631.00 with 7yr /100 warranty, wheel locks also got the gap insurance lender was Honda American Finance. Hope that helps others.

AHFC Super Preferred credit tier is 710.
I had a credit score of around 640 (due to past mistakes). When I spoke with the finance department were I bought my RDX I told them what my score was and that I wanted the 3.9 %, what would it take and I wanted payments under 450.00 a month. They came back and said if I could put down 40% (trade-in and cash)they would give me the 3.9% for 60 months. I was able to do that and they gave me the 3.9%. for 60 months and my payment is $476.00
Everything can be negotiated
It sucked giving them more money but I figure that if I just used my trade-in and then the 8.9% my monthly payments would be more like $750.00 a month.

My credit score ended up being 698 because I got my wife a car two months ago. My monthly payments and APR are a little more than what I wanted by it's liveable.
